At our campaign celebration breakfast Thursday, United Way of Saginaw County announced the results of our 2011 annual giving campaign. Thanks to community donations, we were able to raise $2,312,637 to support our work in the Saginaw County community.
Although United Way didn't set a dollar goal for the community, we encouraged others to give what they could, hoping that donations would help allow us to keep funding programs at our partnering agencies at the same level we have been. Currently United Way of Saginaw County provides funding to 32 programs at 19 partnering agencies.
The annual United Way campaign results were comparable with numbers reported last year. In 2010, United Way also raised $2.3 million.
"Even when our community is struggling, it is wonderful how people continue to respond to others' needs. It is very personally rewarding to be a part of this successful Saginaw County United Way campaign," said John Kunitzer, 2011 campaign chair.
"This year our campaign focused on helping others in OUR community," said United Way President/CEO, Cherrie Benchley. "This morning we were able to announce successful campaign results because of the generosity of our community members. This is a great community that always steps up to the challenge of helping others in need and I am proud to be a part of such a generous and caring community," said Benchley.
Thank you again for all that you do to help OUR community. We could not have made our goal without your support!
Thank you for LIVING UNITED. |
